Wood Broomball Stick / Broom

I bought these last year to bring broom ball to my 6th, 7th and 8th graders. I ordered them because of the many colors they came in allowing me to easily designate teams, their solid wood handles and the recommendation of the people here on this site. I have really appreciated the many colors. 

I have played this in 6 40-minute (one class was actually only 20 minutes long because I felt the need to change activities after we broke 2 sticks in that amount of time) classes thus far and have broken 4 stick heads beyond repair and one stick thus far, all during the course of normal play. Many other stick heads have chipped or cracked.   Even in moderately cold temperatures (teens and 20's) the stick heads become brittle and crack or shatter (really).

FOr me I disagree with the claim that "Should be able to hold up to most abuse"
